Shelfari Fun!
Are you looking for a way to keep track of books you have read or reread lately? You might want to start a Shelfari bookshelf! Shelfari allows you to create a free account in which you search for book covers matching your recent reads, add the book covers to your bookshelf, rate the books, and even annotate or review them if you'd like. You can also see what friends are reading and read others' comments on books you've read or are about to read. Check out my budding bookshelf here!

This sounds a lot like what we read about earlier in the semester when we were talking about social bookmarking, similar to del.icio.us, I think???
Yes, good connection! The social feature of being able to find new books based on others' tags and bookshelves is pretty cool. Shelfari is also a great way to keep track of all of the books that you have read lately so that when a student or teacher asks you for a book recommendation, you can quickly see what you've read and enjoyed. I have just started adding and tagging books I've used for particular units too. That way I have a visual reminder of the resources I need if I teach the unit again in the future.
I really liked that the site uses covers of the books. This site seems very similar to LibraryThing. Is it difficult to add books to your shelf? I like how it offers a way to mark a book currently being read and what you plan to read and would wish to own. Thanks for sharing your library.
Sorry... I just saw your comment in this section! Adding books is really easy-- You just type the book's name in the search box and then a list of books with cover pictures appears, at which point you just click on the book you read to add it to your shelf. Very cool! :)
